1. Our services

Atika Financial provides accounting, bookkeeping, tax and financial administration services as agreed with each client.

The exact services provided, responsibilities, fees and deadlines will be confirmed in the client’s individual engagement letter.

2. Scope of work

Services are limited to those specifically agreed with the client.

Additional work outside the agreed scope may be subject to an additional fee, which will be discussed with the client before the additional work is undertaken where reasonably practicable.

3. Client responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing complete, accurate and timely information and documents required for us to provide the agreed services.

We are entitled to rely on information provided by the client unless there is reason to believe it is incorrect or incomplete.

4. Tax and accounting information

We will exercise reasonable professional care when providing our services.

Clients remain responsible for reviewing information provided to them and for notifying us promptly of any relevant changes or errors.

We do not knowingly prepare or submit information that is false, misleading or unsupported.

5. HMRC and other authorities

Where we are authorised to act for a client, we may communicate with HMRC or other relevant authorities on the client’s behalf within the agreed scope of our engagement.

We will only access client information through appropriate authorised channels.

Clients must not provide us with their HMRC or other government-service login credentials.

6. Anti-money laundering and identity checks

Where required by law or regulation, we will carry out identity verification, customer due diligence and other appropriate checks before or during the client relationship.

We may request additional information where required to understand the client, its ownership, activities or the nature of the relationship.

We reserve the right not to proceed with or to terminate a relationship where required checks cannot be satisfactorily completed or where continuing to act would conflict with our legal or regulatory obligations.

7. Fees

Fees are agreed with each client based on the scope, complexity and requirements of the engagement.

Invoices are payable according to the payment terms stated in the engagement agreement.

8. Confidentiality

We treat client information as confidential and take appropriate measures to protect it, subject to legal, regulatory and professional obligations.

9. Data protection

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice.

10. Ending an engagement

Either party may terminate an engagement in accordance with the termination provisions contained in the relevant engagement letter.

Outstanding fees and information required to complete work up to the termination date remain payable.

11. Changes to services

Any material change to the agreed scope of services or fees will be communicated to the client.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have jurisdiction.
